For good TV viewing, watch community Christmas parades, tree lighting ceremonies on TV30 this week

Festive celebrations include those in Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon

Tri-Valley TV, the community's public broadcast system, will televise recent Christmas celebrations in Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon this week.

All of the events will be shown on TV channel 30.

Kicking off the merriment was Dublin's 27th annual Holiday Tree Lighting that took place on Dec. 2 at the Dublin Civic Center with entertainment and caroling. The Dublin Unified Elementary School Choir performed.

Also on Dec. 2, San Ramon's Bishop Ranch hosted its ninth annual tree-lighting ceremony, which included sleigh rides, live music and the lighting of the 65-foot tall Christmas tree.

Livermore Holiday Sights and Sounds Parade and Tree Lighting was held on Dec. 4. For the first time this year, Tri-Valley TV personality, Anna Kagarakis served as one of the hosts providing commentary along with Livermore City Councilman Jeff Williams. A Livermore tradition, the celebration consisted of a parade with floats, marching bands, music and the lighting of a tall spruce tree and a Menorah.

Also taking place on Dec. 4 was the annual Pleasanton Hometown Holiday Celebration. This event included a parade down Main Street with floats, marching bands and community groups. The tree lighting ceremony followed the parade at the Museum on Main.

Melissa Tench-Stevens, TV30s executive director, said DVDs of each of the events can be purchased for $20 plus $5 shipping and handling, and can be ordered by signing on to the station's Website at
