Lose to De La Salle 56-35 in championship game at Newark High

The Amador Valley High School freshman basketball team finished second in a weekend tournament at Newark Memorial High School, losing to De La Salle in the championship game.

In the championship game, the Dons put together a strong defensive effort for the first half and led De La Salle 22-18 after two periods.

Amador played a tough game, but fell to De La Salle, 56-35 as De La Salle took advantage of three Dons' fouls.

It was another balanced scoring effort for the Dons, with Sean Thomas leading the way with eight points, and Austin Piscotty and Sid Seth adding seven each.
