Historian James Smith will introduce his latest book, "San Francisco's Playlands at the Beach, the Early Years," tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at Towne Center Books, 555 Main St. The book is a photographic journey of the park and construction in the late 1920s to it's heyday in the '30s and '40s. Reservations are helpful for setup; call 846-8826.
