Santa visiting with children at Stoneridge Shopping Center through Christmas Eve

2-story tree, jolly old Santa help kick off holiday shopping season

Santa arrived at Stoneridge Shopping Center Saturday, where he's taken his seat at the foot of the mall's colorfully-decorated two-story Christmas tree in the center's Grand Court.

Members of the Stoneridge Kidgits club were among the first to meet Santa, where they were given special antlers from Santa, himself. Hundreds more children followed, telling Santa about their hopes for Christmas and also receiving a magical jingle bell necklace in return.

The Kidgits Factory is located on the other side of the tree from Santa and offers children a chance to visit one of its "Destination Stations" that offer a variety of activities, games and product samplings. Children can rock on the WowWee "Paper Jamz" air guitar, use their imagination to create a masterpiece with Mega Bloks, combat head to head with Tengamo characters, swap trading cards with Topps Cards and become a Denko master, said Carrie Williams, Stoneridge Shopping Center's spokeswoman.

Santa will be visiting with children every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except on Sundays when he'll arrive at 11 a.m. He'll even be there Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. before picking up his reindeer and gifts back at the North Pole for his trip to children's homes around the world.
