SPORTS: BUSC Under 11s defeat Sacramento United 4-2 in 'Boo Fest' tournament

Rain, muddy fields don't stop Pleasanton team from 1st place finish

BUSC's U11 Premier soccer team battled muddy fields and rain last weekend to go undefeated in all four games it played at Sacramento's Boo Fest tournament.

The Premiers were named champions for their age group.

The Premiers came out strong in their first game against Elk Grove Everton winning 6-2. In their second match on Saturday they defeated North Bay Elite FC AC Milan 3-0.

In opening play on Sunday, the team was faced with rain and muddy fields. Sunday's first match against Placer United Prestige ended in a 0-0 tie, clinching U11's first place finish in their bracket. BUSC faced Folsom Fusion for the championship game in the puddle-soaked fields and downpour of rain, but prevailed, taking their first place medals with a 4-2 victory.

In the spirit of the Boo-Fest and the Boo-Stacular events, the team dressed in costume with all 12 boys dressed as Coach Chuck Lemoine, right down to the red bull.
