Local veterans offer support for McNerney

100 Veterans for McNerney group joins others in backing congressman

One hundred local veterans offered their strong endorsement of Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) Monday, forming the 100 Veterans for McNerney group in support of his re-election.

In addition, two high profile veterans groups, Veterans' Vision and Veterans and Military Families for Progress, also endorsed McNerney today.

"I'm honored to have the endorsement of so many brave men and women who served our country," McNerney said. "Our veterans have earned our gratitude and thanks and the best possible medical care. That's why I wrote a law to improve treatment for service members returning home with traumatic brain injuries and why I worked to deliver a new VA medical facility to our area. I'm proud to stand up for our veterans."

McNerney is the author of a new law to improve care for service members returning home with traumatic brain injuries. He helped secure a new veterans' medical facility for our area and also led the charge for provisions, passed by the House with bipartisan support, to increase pay for our men and women serving in combat.
