Pleasanton Military Families Support Group

Pleasanton Military Families Support Groups' mission is to provide support and comfort to the families of Pleasanton residents whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. This group has monthly meetings and other events such as the upcoming Christmas/Holiday "pack out" of comfort and care items to be sent to these deployed members of the armed forces on Dec. 5. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where these personnel have yellow streamers displayed with their name, rank and branch of service. For more information, contact Chairman Pat Frizzell at PleasantonMilitaryFamilies@gmail.com or Chris Miller at millercj3@gmail.com.

I have been a member of this group since 2006 and as a mother of a Marine now serving his third deployment to the Middle East. The support and friendship I have received during these years has been invaluable. I know I could not have gotten through some of the more challenging days and nights without this dedicated, loving support family. I encourage anyone who has a family member in the military to contact our chairman, Pat Frizzell, or our ambassador, Chris Miller, to get more details on joining us. Even if you do not have a military family member and just want to volunteer to help with some of the events to support the troops. you are welcome.

God bless our troops and their families!!
