Expect delays on some major Pleasanton streets

Paving projects to affect Santa Rita, Stoneridge and West Las Positas

Pleasanton drivers can expect traffic delays along several major thoroughfares as street improvement projects get under way.

Delays could be most significant on Santa Rita Road between Mohr Avenue and Jensen Street through the end of August, when the work is due to be completed. Road crews will be grinding, paving, striping and making curb and other repairs during this period.

Starting next week, night paving also is scheduled to complete work that was suspended last fall as a result of weather. The project will resume as warmer temperatures approach ideal conditions for evening paving.

This work could cause delays during both daytime and evening hours on Stoneridge Drive between West Las Positas Avenue and Santa Rita Road, and on Stoneridge Drive between Foothill Road and Stoneridge Mall Road.

The street projects are utilizing funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
