Brrrr! A cool 69 degrees may be the high today for Pleasanton, Tri-Valley

80s due to come back starting Monday as summer starts

Temperatures more winter-like than for mid-June will reach only 69 degrees today in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley as a cold air front passes by.

Tonight, the thermometer will drop to 48 degrees by early morning, making for an unseasonably cool start for Sunday's Spirit Run in downtown Pleasanton.

The annual Rotary Club benefit will get under way at 8 a.m. with temperatures expected to be in the mid-50s to low-60s, although a high of 78 degrees is expected my mid-day Sunday.

Starting Monday, late spring/early summer temperatures return with the National Weather Service forecasting the mid-80s for the rest of the week.
