Let Bakersfield Beat Silicon Valley?

Uploaded: Jun 25, 2014
I don't think so!

Do you know someone who has or had cancer? Did you wish there was a cure? Help fund the research that may save your beloved or someone else you love.

Did you know that Bakersfield raises more money in their Relay for Life than we do in Silicon Valley?

Couples, families and individuals, you're invited to Relay for Life, this year a carnival theme and camp-out venue to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Come for an hour or come for 24, or anything in between.

Burgess Park, August 9, starting at 9AM. People will be walking the track (sorry, no running required) when they wish over the 24 hours to symbolize that cancer never sleeps (that sneaky little ^$%&).

The first lap is for survivors and their caregivers and that would be a good activity for survivor couples and their families. I was the caregiver for my husband, and am now helping care for my mother-in-law.

Everyone is welcome and welcomed. Whether or not you're part of a team, or just want to add your physical support (and a few dollars, please), come and help beat Bakersfield!

For further information on Relay for Life, to become a sponsor, offer items for the silent auction, or to give a donation, please contact Allison Baca at [email protected]

What is it worth to you?
