Is this the same Jan Steed that sat next door to Parvin Ahmadi's office at District Headquarters at Fremont Unified School District in the cache of the FUSD online website....

Elementary Education
Room 212
Ahmadi,Parvin Director Fax 12-296

Pupil Personnel Services
Room 210
Steed, Jan Assistant Director Fax 12-616

and is this the same Brentwood Union School District that just paid out the country's largest teacher child abuse lawsuit settlement of $8 million for teacher child abuse in this web link on the KQED website Web Link

According to this job posting Web Link , the Director of Student Services is a member of the Superintendent's cabinet in charge of child welfare.

I cannot fathom why the School Board would hire someone associated with the management team of the Brentwood school district when the allegations of this lawsuit and the criminal complaint took place. Looking at the lawsuit in the KQED link, I am sickened. Kicking, hitting, and verbally abusing students with words like "little s**t" and "studid son of a b***h" and protecting a teacher and failing to report child abuse to law enforcement is completely unacceptable.

Was the School Board told this hire was from the Brentwood District and previously sat in an office next to Ahmadi's in the Fremont Unified School District?

At the previous school board meeting the APT President and VP brought up the personnel issues of two principals, now they are concerned about people bringing up personnel issues in public? Seems to be a bit hypocritical. While the union president is bringing up the "impeccable records" of the teachers who were mentioned, of course she fails to mention the impeccable records of the two principals she brought up before the APT went on their witch hunts. If the APT does not want personnel issues brought up in a public venue perhaps they should lead by example. In her own words in the released documents in the case of the WG principal the APT president stated she threaten to embarrass the board in to action by going public with their allegations against the principal if the district did not comply with demands. At the last board meeting the APT seemed to be making good on that kind of threat but this time it was against the Hart Principal.

The APT president also mentions the "impeccable records" of the teachers brought up, but what she fails to mention is the principals she brought up at the last meeting also had impeccable records until the APT got involved.

Further more where was the APT's outrage when their own members were making slanderous and libelous accusations against members of the Classified Employee Union? Again the two people targeted by members of the APT also had "impeccable records".

Web Link

Again it seems to me the ATP seems to have a "do as I say and not as I do" attitude.

Seems to me the ATP needs some new leadership.

Lucky, lucky students at Walnut Grove!!! Jan Steed is an energetic, dedicated, inspiring woman. She has lived in Pleasanton for several years and I couldn't be happier that she is "coming home" to share her talents with us in Pleasanton.

LOL "Right"...I'm about as "right" as they come and am very critical of the Pleasanton teachers union and teachers unions in general, but I come from a family of teachers and LOVE good teachers. I am acquainted with Jan personally and have always been very impressed with her. She's smart, caring, well-spoken and just an all-around good person.

I feel badly for the students and parents at Walnut Grove with all they've gone through the past few months. I have complete confidence that Jan can get Walnut Grove back on track.

Not surprising that Ahmadi brought one of her cronies for Fremont School District. Good thing Ms Steed has dealt with law suits and such while she worked for the Brentwood School District. She will need it in dealing with the teachers at WG. Hope she has a backbone to deal with the cliques of teachers that think they run that school GOOD LUCK!

Perhaps the lesson learned is that if you get involved with a witch hunt, you may find yourself in the spotlight. And that light might be harsh and reveal things you had not previously wanted to see in yourself. Other teachers in your little group have similar challenges with self awareness.

So what happens to Vnrash? Still on the payroll in a do-nothing job since he was wrongly terminated and PUSD doesn't want to face a lawsuit?

To "Dear Wetklow": You must have not been listening to Ms. Wetklow speak. She wrote a letter in FAVOR of Ms. Conde three years ago. You can blame others for the fictitious "witch hunt", but not her.

I just asked what's going to happen to Mr. Vnranesh since I had last heard he was given a do-nothing job at full salary. Got deleted. WTH, PW?

Lessismore, Right: I suggest you put your obey and your time where your mouth is. Run for school board in the Fall. Anyone can post anonymously on this blog (myself included), but who can and will step up for the kids. Will you, Lessismore? Will you, Right?

I wish Ms. Steed all the best. She had nothing to do with the Vranesh issue, but she is sure to walk into a hot mess. Hopefully, she can create a sensible, co-operative work environment amongst the staff for the benefit of our town's children.
