"THE BENHAM BLANKET RELIEF DRIVE"
Around Town, posted by Nancy McKain, a resident of another community, on Nov 9, 2012 at 1:59 pm

Hello Good People of the Tri-Valley and beyond...

In light of the recent Hurricane Sandy devastation, my good and kind friend, Natasha Benham-Erdei, has organized a campaign to send help from the Left Coast. She has created the "Benham Blanket Relief Drive". She is asking all of the generous people of the Tri,Valley and beyond, to donate a NEW blanket to send to the people of Port Jefferson, NY, who have been severely affected by the hurricane. Natasha, whose brother works with FedEx, has arranged with them to ship the blankets FREE of charge, directly to a distribution point in Port Jefferson. Her goal is to send a pallet of warm blankets to stave off the freezing temperatures that have already set in . Many homes still do not have electricity or heat, and will not be restored until next week, so your donation of a blanket will help them through this difficult time.

You can bring your donation to my store, The Bracelet Bar @ Serenity, located at 252 Main St., Downtown Pleasanton, Fri-Sat, 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-4pm. She would like to send them early next week as the snow has already begun to fall.

Let's band together, small community-to-small-community, and show them the tremendous compassion and kindness that exists in this great valley!

I know these are difficult times for all of us but these good people are in dire need. Thanks so much for your goodness and THANK YOU Natasha for the kindness of your heart!

You can read Natasha's personal plea below:

Dear Tri-Valley Residents, my name is Natasha and I am putting together "Benham Blanket Relief Drive" for the residents of Port Jefferson NY. It's a small community where I have family and friends who have been hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. I am asking for our community to please donate New Blankets to be shipped to them. I have shipping and a distribution in Port Jefferson in place, but need Blankets. My goal is a pallet of donations. If you can please help me in my quest, please drop off your donation of a blanket(s) to Nancy at The Bracelet Bar @ Serenity. 252 Main St., Downtown Pleasanton, Thursday-Sunday. I would like to send the donations early next week, as it is snowing there and electricity will not be restored for at least another week. Let's show one small community to another that we can help each other. Thank you all for your support in my quest to make a small difference to help this town on Long Island. Thank you, sincerely, Natasha Benham -Erdei.

Thank you to all of the generous people who have donated blankets to this very special cause!

Recently, a group of young ladies from Pleasanton Rage donated 10 blankets for the people of Port Jefferson NY. They held a bake sale and used the money to purchase the blankets. You girls ROCK!

We will be accepting donations through Wednesday, Nov 14th. They will be shipped overnight on 11/15.

Thanks again for your support! The people of Port Jefferson NY send their eternal thanks and appreciation for your kindness!

Cheers

Nancy McKain
