How about: poverty, desperation, surplus repression, perhaps drugs/alcohol (an understandable response to previously mentioned), perhaps competing love interests, all manifested in a blind, violent rage. Ah, I guess the above poster's Fox News explanation is simpler and feeds our pre-existing biases.

The sick one suggests we believe all that we read in the newspaper -- you know, straight from all those diseased liberals who run the lamestream press. Got it? Too damaged to reflect upon self, the sick one can only project his self hatred toward others.
