Robo Carpet Calls from 425-320-5163

Original post made by On Do Not Call List on Jun 11, 2013

Just got yet another Robo call from these "people", and their insidious (and probably illegal) machine, offering to clean my carpets.
This time I stayed on and asked who they were. Lady claimed they are from Carpet Care in Brentwood. No such company found on Google.
When I asked her how they got my number she just hung up.
What kind of service do you expect from someone like that?

Perhaps if everyone made them use a real person, this would not be worth their time.

Free Reverse lookup at
Web Link
says they are in state of Washington and a known robo caller.

See:
Web Link
Apparently they are also Stevens Foot and Ankle.
There's a note: They claim to be "TheCarpetCare.com", with an office in Hemstead Long Island, but they are not.

Please tell me: What can we do to stop this?
Who do we tell?
Where's the enforcement?

For DNCL -- good luck. I have spoken several times with Swalwell's office and the answer was something like, "yeah, we hate those calls too, nothing we can do about them". So my question is this -- do we have a law designed to prevent this or not? If so, why is NO ONE willing to enforce it?

I have been told that the FCC is charged with enforcement, yet they never do anything no matter how many complaints are filed. I think we need a full blown public trashing of those in Congress who wrote the law and have chosen to stand by and do nothing. I am contacting all of my representatives and when I have gone through the list I plan to publish their non-responses. Think you want my vote next election? Then DO SOMETHING about enforcement of laws that are already on the books.

mooseturd is a registered user.

I saved up all the dirty language I could remember and screamed at the person when I actually got to a person. Then I blocked that phone number from reaching my telephone. These people are fairly stupid in that they use this number and two others in sequence.

Sound interested. Ask questions like Can you get out spots?
Get as much information as you can. Ask how to schedule an appointment.

Then quickly say: Please Hold, I'll be right back!
See how long you can make them wait!

Do NOT give your name or any information that they can scam.

One thing you can do is to buy a police whistle. Then when the person on the other end start to speak, have the whistle in your mouth and blow as vigorously as possible right into the phone. Enough people do that and these bung-wads won't be able to get anyone to work for them.
It's clear the morons in the Federal Government that are supposed to be enforcing Do Not Call are doing nothing.

Make sure your telephone number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry with the Federal Trade Commission. Once registered, note that your phone number is permanently registered (scammers may try to tell you that you need to re-register). Make your complaints about telemarketers to: Web Link

As you can imagine, the FTC is inundated with complaints and probably goes after the companies with the largest number of complaints. The latest FTC court case scored a large penalty against the telemarketing company: Web Link

You can also block unwanted phone calls with most newer phones now.

Good Luck!

I appreciate the web link above.

Wonder why they don't seem to do anything about this?

ATTENTION EVERYONE!

I went ahead and booked a carpet cleaning appointment for them to go to a vacant house. I waited up the street and watched them park accross the street. It was a man in his early 30's driving a small older model red truck which was UNMARKED. He came out and knocked on the door a few times. I was able to get a license plate number. That license plate number is 3P0G927 (California Plate).

After waiting in front of that house for several minutes I received a call on my cell phone. The number they called me with was 818-534-6825. They said that the carpet cleaner is waiting in front of your house and I told them that they have the wrong number.

I tried doing a reverse lookup on that number online at whitepages.com and all I can find out at the moment is that the number registered in Northridge, CA. Unfortunately my cell phone number was not on the Do-Not-Call list so I cant report them myself but hopefully someone out there can use this information to report them. Email me at miket818@yahoo.com if I can be of assistance.

I called the 818-534-6825. Some Mexican guys picked up and confirmed they cleaned carpets. But wouldn't tell me their company name.

Someone needs to find out who they are working for.

At least I can crank call them now.
Caller ID: P"
