Police nab daytime burglar Around Town, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Feb 12, 2013 at 12:07 pm
Lincoln's birthday may be in part responsible for the arrest of a Discovery Bay man in a Pleasanton burglary. Two juveniles were alone in their home yesterday about 2:45 p.m. when a white male adult began forcing entry into the side garage door.

Good work, Pleasanton Police.
I hear about these daytime burglaries involving entry through unlocked garage doors or unlocked back doors and wonder why more of these burglars aren't caught. Pretty brazen to attempt something like this in broad daylight. Let's all keep our eyes open.

I think that the remark about guns must have been a joke. While I would shed no tears over the robber getting hit by a gun, I don't think that I want to see uncontrolled bullets flying through the air in a neighborhood filled with innocent passerbys, including young children and women. Letting the dog take a few bites, though, is a great idea.

Very sad to see this story. I grew up in Pleasanton with Chris. From what I have known of him, he's a great guy. I can't fathom him doing something like this. I'm glad everyone is ok.

Sam: "involving entry through unlocked garage doors or unlocked back doors". It was FORCED entry. The door was locked.

Clarence posts: "perhaps he was desperately in need of a restroom". Spoken by a true left wing, bleading heart, loon. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

Often a small number of these bad apples (rotten to the core) commit many crimes.
Hope the police search their homes, cars, etc. and see what other things they've stolen.
Side note: mark your possessions. Know the serial numbers. Report the crime, even if the odds of recovery are dismal.
Three Strikes is an example of a way to reduce crime that works, by locking up criminals. And perhaps by scaring some. It's probably cheaper to feed them than the damage they do.
They'll cause hundred of dollars of damage to break into a car or house, to steal a radio or electronics that they'll sell for pennies on the dollar. And the same dirtbags do it again and again.
What about your peace of mind, knowing you were invaded?

Clarence may have a point. We were broken into a couple of times. One time the robber didn't take anything but he left the seat up in the bathroom. Since then we don't lock our doors. Hey, if they want to get in they will, and why bother having to replace a window or door frame? And at least twice people have 'broken in' without breaking or stealing anything. When you've gotta go you've gotta go. I don't think throwing people in jail is the proper response.

This guy grew up in pleasanton, graduated from amador. Very sad to see this story and what went wrong. You never know who your neighbor really is. Glad those young boys are okay.

Jordan, can you post again and be more specific about your neighborhood? We've also had people break in simply because they need to use a bathroom. It's happened to us at least twice! Maybe someone has a bladder problem? Thanks in advance!
