The older I get, the more frustrated I get with how government operates. This water slide will be shut down for TWO YEARS according to this article. Clearly the goal of the park district was to shut it down permanently and replace it with something no one wanted (i.e. interpretive center). Now we have so many permits to get, it may never get opened. What a waste. We had a nice facility for our kids and grandkids and one that provided jobs for high schoolers, all gone.
