A large meteor streaked across the night sky last night and was seen and heard throughout the Bay Area.

It appeared to be high in the sky, heading north, horizontally.

Saw it thru a high window from inside the house. It looked like a huge ball of fire, trailing flame. Thought it might've been a rocket.

Yes, saw it wiz by burning up and leaving a smoke trail for a few minutes. Truly amazing.
