Amador Basketball
Sports, posted by Sports fan, a resident of the Amador Estates neighborhood, on Sep 1, 2012 at 9:28 am

This will be the year that amador will win EBAL basketball! They have strong core of players coming back! Foothill will be stronger too as there's a strong senior talent that will see more playing time.

This will also be a good year for ice cream sales! I love basketball and ice cream! They have many good players and many good flavors, respectively! Down with unions! Up with exclamation marks.

Frank: Not everybody shares the same enthusiasm for football as most do. Let them have their fun.

As far as ice cream and flavors. Sounds yummy to me!

Could be a good year for winter sports at Amador. The wrestling team will also make a run at winning EBAL. Livermore vs Amador is the 1st Ebal meet for both teams and the winner should run the tables in Ebal.

The Amador team is young also. Mostly Jr. lead by standout Tommy Yosso

I'm looking forward to this year. They have some really good seniors playing like Trinidad. There are also some strong upcoming juniors playing like Kirk. Have any pleasanton basketball players ever gotten a basketball scholarship? I know there is one kid that got football scholarship like Mannion who's doing really well in Oregon.

Foothill has talent coming back this year and it'll be Foothill in EBAL top 3 behind DLS and Monte Vista. MV has the Castro Valley coach there now.

Heard a sophomore at Amador just threw down a dunk at one of the games. Do I hear division one for this young man?

As a follow up to this post, Foothill Varsity hasn't won a game yet and Amador's sophmore will only go D1 if he plays AAU and builds muscle and toughness. Amadors varsity team has four sophmores which leads me to believe in future years they will be great contenders. Their JV team (the remainder of sophmores)has the talent but no leadership. Whomever is dictating their plays or lack of, has a lot to learn about utilizing players. Monte Vista and De La Salle again seem to be the teams to watch this year. Amador will be strong in years to come with Foothill still a wild card.

@Mike, I agree. The soph who dunked definitely has to build up muscle and play outside of the school's "aau" program. Many aau teams area already eye-ing this young man. I hope the parents are well-informed.

It seems that no matter how bad the Foothill varsity team is, they can always get a win against Amador on their home court. Amador coach and FOUR assistant coaches can't seem to figure out how to win on that court. They have lost every single time for the past 5 years. It was Foothill's senior night and was determined to win. I did feel bad for the Foothill seniors who didn't get to play 1 second of their last game. I heard Amador played all their seniors even the ones who never played during league and they are in NCS where Foothill didn't even have a chance.
