I sure wish BART had never come to Pleasanton. So many of these crimes were committed by non-Pleasanton residents. I am speechless that tweens/teens somehow had counterfeit money and can only imagine where it came from as most kids that age aren't likely getting it on their own. Okay, most kids that I know (and yes, I've only raised kids in this town so maybe I'm naive). I hope they throw the book at the "adults" in their lives that put them in a position to face federal charges. I would know if my teenage child came home with new clothes purchases totaling more than I had given her from the mall even if I let them go alone (which in my opinion these girls are far too young to be without supervision). And if I were with my child, certainly I'd know if they bought clothes then too and I'd ask where the money came from to buy it if I hadn't given it to her myself. This is just horrible and it's a shame it's happening in Pleasanton by people that don't live here.
Like so many of us, I haven't forgotten about the girl in the garbage can on Dublin Canyon Road and wonder why our community isn't seeing updates on this case. I have an adult daughter mylself and I know there's a mom or dad or a family looking for her. I hope the silence from PPD or the Sheriff means they aren't looking for the public's help because they know something sort of like the murder/suicide that happened earlier this year that they were pretty mum on until they finally had evidence back from being tested. But silence doesn't mean this terrible crime didn't happen or that she wasn't dumped there. Bless her and her family. I hope they are able to find peace.
as i recall pm, a pleasanton couple were murdered by their son...no BART imports in this case...consider giving your racism a rest...
You'd know what an absolute idiot you are if you could see what I look like. I'll leave it at that.
Racism is a very strong accusation and I personally would never make such an accusation without very strong evidence. However, you're incorrect in your suggestion that the introduction of BART resulted in a significant increase in the local crime rate due to outsiders riding into Pleasanton. The facts don't support that. The historical crime statistics for Pleasanton for the last 20 years are there for anyone to see in the Pleasanton Police annual report on their website.
In all the time that I have read comments here, I have never seen an intelligent comment from Cholo. For comments like "racism' on something that has no mention of race just further confirms PM’s remark about Cholo.
What the hell does BART have to do with this? The people in this Forum are always blaming BART and/or the people who use it; democrats and/or Obama; anyone who isn't white; "poor"people and of course the liberals who have invaded Pleasanton! What a bunch of nutballs!!!!
The headline of the article here, folks, is:
"Police log: Underage drinking, vandalism reported at teen party "
Somehow, i don't think these teens arrived at " a home in the 6000 block of Kolb Ranch Road " via BART.
Maybe they arrived in Daddy's Mercedes, bought from the same dealership that withheld information from police awhile back in the investigation of the death of a bicyclist up in Dublin/San Ramon, tho, huh?
Yup, rich folks & their drunk kids are just ruinin' this town, eh?
I am in strong agreement with the posts here that mention how tired we all are to continue to read biased, canned comments that fault either Bart, Obama and/or people from who don't live in Pleasanton for everything that happens in this town.
Regarding Cholo's comment - in terms of the Pleasanton couple murdered by their son - he makes a valid counterpoint to the opening statement made here by "Pleasanton Mom." And while I agree with Sam's comment that "racism" may be a strong word...that is only when it is thought of in the traditional sense. But an accepted definition of racism includes intolerance of people who do not share your interest, ideals, or common history. And I consider Pleasanton Mom's opening comments to be quite intolerant of people who do not share her precious Pleasanton borders.
Who rides BART anyway? And why are so many of the good people of Pleasanton opposed to liberalism's attempt to bring low income housing to our community? Nuff said. I suppose now Cholo's going to call me a racist. How could I be? I'm half Latino.
BTW, Kolb Ranch Road is just a quick cab ride from the BART station. Wake up America!
I have the impression that PM doesn't appreciate how she looks. That's unfortunate...easy does it!
What makes anybody conclude that just because he is "half Latino" that other might agree that he's incapable of self hate?
To the question raised - "who rides Bart anyway?" I do, every workday. Yes, I leave the insulated bubble of Pleasanton and I have to sit next to...(per Pleasanton Mom) ...those people. Yes, those scary nonPleasanton residents who are being presented here as having a sole purpose of plotting 24/7 about how they could come to Ptown in their nonexistent free time and terrorize the local residents.
I've heard of quite a few incidents where the minor child tells a friend they are going on vacation and while people are gone kids from their own school break in and party in the house, eat the food and vandalize the home and POST Facebook pics showing the fun they are having while they are there. Some kids just don't have the smarts they were born with.
Amazon, enough with the self righteous B.S. Once you get down from your 'tolerate everything' soapbox, tell us why you moved here in the first place. Not that I'm all that interested in you, but I'm trying to understand the mindset of someone who comes to a community, presuambly because of it's good qualities, and then tries to change it to whatever suits their utopian goals.
Getting back to the original post, who (besides cholo) specifically brought up race? Amazon had to search long and hard between the lines to find something to fit his agenda, but the real racist is the one who tries to uproot a community becasue it doesn't fit his vision of the rainbow.
Hey Liberalism is a disease - to your comment "the real racist is the one who tries to uproot a community because it doesn't fit his vision of the rainbow."
really? This from someone whose handle - Liberalism is a Disease - already has a negative judgement in it. Perhaps you are the one who is trying to uproot a community over your vision.
The whole point of this article has been lost to a bunch of mumbo jumbo.
The Pleasanton Weekly online is a joke.
did you mean to say jumbo mumbo?
Cholo- It's getting old...
A great Leap Day idea moves forward
