Sarah Palin's Going to the Bank By Cindy Cross
Does anyone wonder what happened to Sarah Palin? Why did she leave the race? I think a better question would be; was she ever serious about running?
Fans of Palin would be aghast at the thought that Palin, considering her actions the last six months, had no intentions of ever running for the 2012 presidential race.
Forever the media darling, whether you liked her or not, she was always interesting. Unlike Mitt Romney who could put his mother to sleep with his political-speak turned on to high, people hung on to her every word. Tea-Party members welcomed her patriotic 'take America back' rhetoric, while detractors waited for the inevitable gaffe with American history (or geography, etc.).
Palin sold magazines and newspapers wherever she made the front cover. Palin may be the poster child for making it big in America with limited intelligence. But where she falls short in the brains; she makes up for it with marketing savvy.
I believe she never had intentions of running for president. After her popularity sparked from the McCain partnership in 2008, she decided to take a ride on the money train. Take it for what it's worth, Levi Johnston, father of Sarah's grandson, allegedly overheard Sarah say, "I want to just take this money and quit being governor." And she did just that—she resigned as Governor of Alaska just two years into the post.
Considering her actions, I believe Palin is in politics for the money, and not for the welfare of her constituents. She may have gone into the political arena in Alaska for noble reasons, but I think the media adoration morphed her ambition into a desire for wealth, power and notoriety.
Palin's two books, 'Going Rogue: An American Life' and 'America by Heart' have earned her over $11 million. She also earns a reported, $100,000 per speaking engagement, and another $1 million+ as political commentator for Fox news.
Why risk losing the 2012 GOP nomination, why do all the heavy lifting as the president? Why would Palin want to make America a better place, as she claims?
The reason is simple—she can guarantee success now, rather than risk the humiliation of an aggressive GOP pundit who would call her out publicly. The GOP can't risk losing the election in 2012 with a mental lightweight.
Maybe she took some advice from Donald Trump when they had pizza together last summer. Trump is all about the money. He probably told her to ditch the 'One Nation Bus Tour' and take the money and run, or should I say DON'T run and take the money.

SHOCKER! New flash, a politician wrote a book and made money! A politician profiting off of their time in office?!? First time in history!
The continued sliming of Sarah Palin (now including our pablum puking Pleasanton pundit) is due to the fact that she was a successful politician offering common sense solutions that appeared to middle America. That would have been OK, except she is also a conservative, which is a threat to our leftist media, because they realize with her looks, charm, and ability to speak from the heart, she was made for the campaign trail.
To their eyes, they had just seen 8 years of GWB, and here comes a better looking female version.
A bit of na√Įvet√©? The occasional gaffe? Yes, just like our current President. Hell, the VP that DID get elected in '08 is a flippin' gaffe machine.

It's fun reading the kkkers get their hackles raised after a few gentle criticisms are raised toward their lady of hate and sleeze. McCain had the decency to tone down the racist crackers who were hanging on to his campaign; Palin only further incited them. Like most kkkers, she's never had the guts to sit down and hash out ideas with the other side. Nope, she hides behind Fox, and rakes in her dough. It's amazing that she got the support she got. But I guess it just illustrates the prevalence of racist haters who continue to hope for a messiah to lead them to the glory of whiteness.

I really wish people would stop talking about Palin and Bachman. Palin isn't even running for anything.

Now, jimf01, you really can't mean this "...due to the fact that she was a successful politician..." She's a quitter. Can't even finish her term as a governor. She suck people right in...

Looks like the trolls are now using the moniker Jonathan. What kind of man let's himself feel so threatened by a strong woman? Not much of one, apparently.

I love how people are obsessed with Sarah Palin, ever after she announced that she is not running for any office. She has taken so much crap from the media and leftists...I'm glad she's making big money. Good for her!

I am glad she is making the big bucks. As long as she keeps following the money, she'll stay out of national politics in any meaningful way. While she is distracted by the millions she's making, the serious, committed candidates will be allowed to compete without all the inevitable distractions from her and her usual media nonsense.

I disagree with you Jim. It's not because she is pretty, conservative and populist that made her a target. It's is that she is dumb as a box of rocks and unsuited on every level for the job of POTUS. Imagine what a mess we'd be in if she were expected to lead us out of this current economic quagmire. She cannot be taken seriously in times of crisis.

It's not Sarah Palin we should be worried about. It's the unions, and Occupy Wall Street protesters, and teachers, and public workers, and intellectual elitists, and unemployed who are unemployed through their own fault, and liberals, and progressives, and feminists, and big-mouthed activists who think there is still racism in the country, and Planned Parenthood, and activist judges, and socialist presidents, and Hollywood liberals, and social justice advocates, and illegal immigrants, and obese people, and teen-aged girls getting pregnant out of wedlock, and people who don't use their real names on pw posts, and people who hire undocumented immigrants, and godless people who reject Christ, and sick people who can't afford to purchase their own healthcare plan, and the 73% of the voting public who think it's okay to raise taxes on the rich.

So, let's leave Sarah alone. There's a war going on and we need to go after America's real enemies.

There ya go Jonathan, Robbie, and the rest of the hateful left wing trolls spell it all out for you, and illustrate at the same time why there is no reasonable political dialogue going on here, or in large part this country.

Sarah Palin led Alaska as governor and negotiated with both political parties to implement successful reforms. Sarah Palin resigned her office, perhaps not coincidentally, at a time when her political opponents lodged phony complaint on top of phony complaint. She left Alaska in the capable hands of her Lt Governor for the remaining 18 months of her first term, and has gone on to have more effect on national politics than anyone not already in office or running for office.
And as a private citizen, all the left can do is write slanderous lies about her! Delicious.

Oh, and I forgot to mention elitist scientists, and global warming advocates, and gays, and gay rights advocates, and people who believe in evolution, and homeless people who ask for handouts, and people of color who ride BART and shop at the mall, and entitlement folks who are going to pollute our communities by moving into high-density housing, and arabs, and people who drive hybrids instead of hummers, and people who desire to build and worship at muslim mosques, and people who hire undocumented immigrants, and LGBT community, and overpriced police chiefs, and politicians who want to raise taxes on the rich, and people who support tenure system for teachers, and people in support of gun control laws, and anti-death penalty activists, and, above all, people who lodge complaints against the beauty queen, and people who ridicule the teabaggers and who express their disdain for kkk and other hate-based groups.

Hate on all of them and more, but don't lodge your phony criticisms against my gal Sarah.

As Jimful says, can't we have a reasonable discussion about all these terrible enemies of America?

Celebrate Sarah Palin's success as a celebrity and make her a multi-millionaire, while demonizing the people who do real work to scrape out a living and hope to retire before they die. It's the new American Dream.

jonathan, you forgot 'trolls' in your list (rant).
Hi, b.

a neighbor, if Palin is dumb as a bag of rocks and has made a million and you haven't, well, you can connect the dots.......if she's as incapable as you haters insist, just ignore her. But you can't....you're just as bad as tabloid journalists/readers.

Steve, I'll be happy to compare my 23 year career as a pediatric surgical nurse against her so called career any day. She'd win in the looks department and the money for sure, but just because Jimbo says she has had an impact doesn't make her less dumb.

The fact that she is not in the running at this point is a clear sign that even her handlers know she has no chance. She has become a has-been who never was.

The fact that she is not in the running is a clear sign that my analysis is correct. It is because of the continuous sliming of Sarah Palin. Her opponents even got all of her emails released and ran to read through them to find examples to prove their narrative (which you obviously fall for) that she is dumb, or even better, corrupt. What did they come up with? Nothing
.
You may be a great nurse, but you are a political sheeple. Hint, stop believing everything the media feeds you. Your screen name is apt, because everyone has 'a neighbor' who is just like you.

That is why we keep electing corrupt and inept people, and allow the media and the two parties that control politics to drive decent people away from the process

It's pretty understandable why Jimful thinks so highly of Sarah Palin. Look at his arguments. Claiming Palin is dumb as a sack of rocks will have no influence on Jimful-of-hate. My two daughters think Clarence the Clown is a genius. And Jimful has his Sarah. There it is.

BTW, my daughters are 4 and 6, so you can see why they think Clarence the Clown is a genius. So, too, it's easy to estimate the mental age of a Palin apologist. And hence it goes: when someone tries to come off as an apologist for the beauty queen, it tells you quite a bit about their intelligence level. It's likely they'll not even be able to grasp what a huckster she is. Sometimes I wish a basic education level were instituted to keep the soft-headed ones away from the polls.

"Sometimes I wish a basic education level were instituted to keep the soft-headed ones away from the polls."
I could not agree more, especialy after the results of the 2008 elections. A partial correction was made in 2010, with more to come in 2012. Maybe all the improvements in education that the dems have promoted with increased spending is starting to pay off.

The fact that she is not in the running is a clear sign that she is less fit to be president than Michelle Bachman.

In all seriousness, why do people hate Palin so much? I really was out of the loop last election (don't ask) but I can't seem to find much on why people actually hate her. But they say her name on a TV show or something and the crowd laughs. Can someone let me in on the joke?

Palin didn't run for president because she knew she couldn't win. Why waste $ when you know what the outcome will be. Another big loss and she would loose her "darling" status. She is one of the main reasons McCain lost in 2008.

I think the main problem people have with Palin is that she clearly demonstrated that she has no depth and very limited knowledge of the complex issues that face the world. She is charismatic and good at reading a speech written for her but is a real lightweight in the intellectual substance department.Taking the path she has chosen really exposes her as being in it for the money and celebrity, which is fine as it is.Just do not try to present yourself as a serious person with the knowledge and desire to lead the USA.It is actually a national embarrasment that she has the status that she has.She is a celabrity, kind of like a Kardashian and that is all.
