Which Mexican food restaurant in town is the best? Restaurants, posted by Lee, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Feb 21, 2011 at 8:43 am
After eating at all the local Mexican food restaurants, we have concluded that they are all very similar: bland food, so so service. Does anyone have a recommendation for one in the Tri-Valley area?

It has to be Fiesta Taco. Anytime you find the police and firemen eating somewhere you know it's good. Fiesta has become the defacto AVHS food hangout. Miguel and Jose have been especially good supporters of Amador over the years.

Fiesta Taco...the food is great, and you have to admire the way the owners/staff treat the Amador kids with respect, and the kids seem to return the courtesy. This place is a huge asset to Pleasanton and deserves our support.

Fiesta Taco is not my favourite, but my family loves it and I also appreciate how my teenagers feel comfortable there. We also like Fernandos on St. Mary St. I believe it is also a family business. And I have to plug Mexico Lindo....many of us Amador parents hang out there. The service has always been exceptional & I think the food is good.
I'm glad to hear the suggestion of "Los Pericos". I work near there and have always wondered. I will definitely try it.

Sad to say, but we go to Casa Orozco Livermore..but guess I should try Fiesta with the comments above.
I'm originally from Tucson, and My Northern CA favorite is ElBurro on the outskirts of Newpark Mall for 20+ yrs, and the original ElBurro 30+ years in The Pruneyard in Campbell.... best authentic red gravy and sauce...huge facility. Our family meets there from all parts of the greater Bay Area for all BDs, etc. They do receptions, etc too. My favorite Sun afternoon is driving thru Sunol canyon, across Mowrey, left right after cross over of 880.

I grew up in San Jose and was spoiled with various authentic Mexican restaurants. Unfortunately in Pleasanton/Livermore/Dublin the closest I've found is El Balazos (the one in Walmart is better). I know Casa Orozco is very popular but it's not at all authentic and I think for that reason appeals to the masses. Another recommendation is The Pupusa House in Livermore, which is Salvadorian but thought I'd include it in this post since they have great pupusas.
