Evacuations, SWAT Teams, and road closures
Around Town, posted by Paul, a resident of the Pleasanton Meadows neighborhood, on Jun 22, 2007 at 6:25 am

We were evacuated from our house at 3am (Thursday June 21st)and not allowed back until 9:30 am. We were not told anything or notified when we could come back. We are trying to get more information on the situation. It started on Stacey Way at what I was told is a cops house. A hostage type situation where he eventually gave himself up. Nobody at the police department will tell me anything and the news is ignoring it. What happened? Is this also special tretment for Pleasanton Police? Are they keeping it quiet? Let me know what you know, heard or think.

Thanks for letting us know about this incident! The Pleasanton Weekly received a press release after our offices were closed Thursday night. I spoke with police this morning and a full report is now online. Believe me, any silence was not intentional on our part. Check back for more updates as we get them.

If this is the home of a high profile/public figure, the police aren't saying. But if anyone has information, please email me (eatwood@pleasantonweekly.com) or feel free to call our office at 600-0840, we'd appreciate it. Thanks!
