What a hoot!!!! The editor of OP does not think highly of our mayor.
Ms. Hosterman’s shoddy management of the mayor’s office and her less than ethical campaigning and city management should give sufficient motivation to Mr. Brozosky to try again in 2008.

OpinionPleasanton.com has replaced the Independent as the alternative source of news in Pleasanton. The other newspapers (including the Pleasanton Weekly) are constrained by their desire to pander to advertisers...OpinionPleasanton.com does not run any advertisments...that I have noted. Thus OpinionPleasanton.com has editorial freedoms that the other newspapers lack.

I'm surprised that none of the postors have commented on the obvious. This site is being written by an ANONYMOUS person!
I find it interesting that the site is based upon some premise about the Pleasanton Weekly's insufficiencies regarding delivering news. But at least we know WHO THEY ARE!!
Seems to me this site violates a basic rule if it purports to be a source of news, that is, the sources must be exposed so they can be corroborated. This includes both the author's name and affiliations. However, it does say it is an "opinion" site, so it's worth may be judged accordingly (two cents?). It's laughable, though, that one postor thinks this site presents an alternative source of "news".

I think the editor of OP is Bob Cortz? Ran for Mayor about ten years ago, ran the Plum Tree Inn bed and breakfast downtown, frequented council meetings for years. Clearly an opinion source not a news source. I don’t always agree but I enjoy his opinions.

Maybe Mr. Cortz didn't want anybody to know that he's the OP Editor.
It's kind of spooky to think that in some countries news people disappear if somebody doesn't like what you have to say. My family fled Latin America because of several editorial's that my father wrote. Drug cartels are very dangerous and so is the church in Latin America.

Just to add to Julie's observation incase anyone is confused as to whether this is a news source or not: "Clearly an opinion source not a news source."

Hey Bob, we now know who you are. Julie and others have pointed you out. How could I have missed it? Could you not find any print font finer than the one you use at the bottom of your web page? You would do a lawyer proud in the fine print department. Jeb Bing at least displays his name prominently in his opinion pieces. Oh, we're supposed to know it's you....

Yes Mr. Bing does display his name in his opinion pieces but I wish he also disclosed that "articles" written by him are also opinion pieces. I have always been amazed at the items he calls articles on how they offer a single point of view and are not well-balanced, and many times inacurate. With Opinion Pleasanton you know that is "opinion". I wish the Weekly would disclose they are also an opinion source or to report balanced articles. I guess that is the problem when you have a small paper where the editor writes many of the "news" articles.
