Downpour pelts Pleasanton
Around Town, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Jan 11, 2008 at 10:53 am

For all those weeks without rain, it seemed Friday that Mother Nature may be making up for the recent dry weather. Heavy rains came down throughout the Bay Area, and it is keeping Pleasanton's Public Works crew busy.

Director of Public Works Rob Wilson said the day started off with a lot of broken tree limbs and localized flooding.

Announcement to all customers of U-Store-It located at:

U-Store-It

3101 Valley Ave

Pleasanton, CA 94566

(925) 249-0004

On Friday, January 4, Building 'A' was flooded due to drainage clogged. According to the temporary acting site manager, bark and debris clogged the drain -- causing a flood of the storage units, specifically building 'A'. As of today, January 10, nothing has been done to dry out the facility or officially notify all renters. I have contacted both the corporate "Customer Service" number, as well as stated my complaint/concern to the temporary manager. Again, the company has not indicated that anything will be done to compensate customers, or aid in cleaning or drying out the storage units. If you have items in one of these units, check all items carefully, the moisture/condensation can create mold and other damage to your goods, along with other units that are not properly dried to create mildew damage throughout the facility, Please file all complaints with the site manager and let them know this lack of service/notification will not be tolerated.
