I read a year ago on the internet some of the mayor's emails that she was killing animals in her back yard to feed to her captive hawk she keeps there. I vividly remember seeing her describe in one of her own emails in graphic detail her giving a live quail or something to it and the hawk killing it.
Now I see, the city as a whole is sponsoring a series of events promoting hawks, including a hawk demonstration from the mayor. I thought I read that the city had said that keeping wild animals in city limits was illegal.
How is this right? And why is the city officially now promoting hawks being kept in back yards, particularly when they are fed live animals? Has the humane society looked at this?

Hosterman should come over to my house and have her hawk hunt all the squirrels nearby. They are a real nuisance to our garden and our roof because neighbors feed them peanuts, which they deposit between the shingles of our roof which then get damaged by blue jays and crows trying to get at the peanuts.
