New Wine Bar Downtown

Original post made by Wine Lover on Aug 9, 2013

Went to the opening of the new, downtown wine bar, The Cellar Door, on Tuesday. What a great place! Tons of wines by the glass, amazing small plates and great atmosphere. The staff was professional, helpful and friendly and boy did they know their wines. A great new business to come out and support. Best of luck to the new owners.

Happy to see this business open up! I hope they are busy tonight!

We were there at 2:30 today (Friday), closed. Nothing to indicate hours opened, or any posting at all regarding "Out for a Minute" Hard to succeed with this type of operation, especially when many places downtown advertise Happy Hour from either 2:00 or 3:00 PM to 6:00PM

I checked for a website or facebook page but couldn't find anything; and while the PDA site had a listing, it did not include business hours.

These are easy fixes, though, so they may simply be farther down on the to-do list.

Good luck

Stopped in on Friday night around 5 and it was lovely. Friendly people, great small plates and a great wine selection! We will definitely be back!

Ah, the wisdom of Cholo, she of the one that has never been to The Cellar Door, but feels free to voice her opinion of something she knew nothing about. But then, typical of her postings.

I have flagged Cholo's last comment as this is nothing more than derogatory for a legitimate business. It is this type of inflammatory rhetoric that hurts any and all businesses without any idea of what goes on. Such comments have no place in any forum from such ill informed people.

Thanks to the Pleasanton Weekly for removing Cholo's one posting. It was unnecessary and insulting to the business in question
