Pest Control

Original post made by Jen on Jul 26, 2013

Anyone have a particular company to recommend? For the first time ever ants are appearing on the kitchen counters. I can't figure out where they are coming in so it's time to call in the pros.
Is there someone you have used and been happy with the results and price?

Ants seem to come into the house every summer. My wife was complaining about ants wandering about on the kitchen countertop. But with persistence she was able to eliminate the problem by killing the ants on the countertop and finding and spraying ant spray on the location under the sink where she found the ants entering. Helps to keep the countertop area as clean as possible, too.

Be careful about ignoring ants, they eat termites. My ant infestation turned out to be due to their feasting on a termite infestation. Big Valley Termite, Valley Ave. Prompt, fair and they will not try to sell you on a monthly contract like the big name companies.

Pesticides are the last choice of intelligent people. The ignorant call for toxins. There are many nontoxic ways to get rid of ants that work and are easily found on the internet.

Get Ryan from Clark Pest Control onboard. He is a genius and truly knows his field. Very studied and takes the time to evaluate the insect causing the problem and researches until he finds the answer. I told him about a rather large earwig that was hiding out in my roses. He came by to observe them, took one back to work and determined they are, in fact, a variety (German) that are larger than usual and newer to this area. He then treated my yard and they are at bay!

Most others care little about the detail and can't hold an intelligent conversation. Then go about killing off the intruders with a litany of chemicals.
