The American flags on light poles on Stoneridge Drive look beautiful

Original post made by Lisa, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jun 13, 2013

I don't know who put them up, or the reason for them, but they look great and I hope they stay up for good.

+1 for the flags - not just on Stoneridge though - they are on Hacienda as well, in the business park. Well done city of Pleasanton or whoever donated them!

Unfortunately this good deed will be tainted by the nasty comments this Forum will inevitably receive :(

They are beautiful. Nopt only for Flag Day, but maybe a nice addition for the visitors arriving for the County Fair, and the Nation's 4th of July Birthday.

I love them.

My name is Amanda McKenzie and I attend Amador Valley High School and am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award.
I have started a campaign in Pleasanton called Pleasanton United in Patriotism (P.U.P.). My goal is to raise awareness about what it means to be an American and encourage everyone to fly the American flag on July 4th.
Hacienda has joined my campaign and has procured 50 American flags (5'x 3') which are proudly hung on the two major corridors of the park. The flags will be up by Flag Day (June 14th) and taken down after July 4th.

I will be hosting a booth at the First Wednesday Street Fairs on July 3rd. The complementary booth will have activities for children (tattoos, coloring, and more) and information about my campaign, and a limited quantity of mini American flags to hang out to those that do not own one. Please stop by my booth (at the North end of Main Street).
Please join me in flying the American flag on July 4th.

Amanda McKenzie

I've also noticed the flags in Hacienda and love them. I hope they keep them up all year long. They look great and make me feel proud to be an American and proud live in a town like Pleasanton.
