Pleasantonians Past & Present Remember Summerall

Original post made by D W on Apr 17, 2013

This ex-Vintage Hills citizen wants to know from all Pleasantonians past, present, & future:

What is your favorite memory of one of Pleasanton's dearest broadcasting friends - the one & only Pat Summerall, who called football for 21 seasons on 2 networks with our own John Madden?

Favorite memory?

When Pat and John called the 49ers first Super Bowl (1981 Season).

I can't remember what year, but when Foothill won it's 2nd NCS Championship, Pat Summerall was in town to tape the All-Madden Team show, and he narrated the team's Highlight video shown at their banquet. I'm sure there are still copies of it floating around town... They don't make them like Pat anyone...

Amazing! I didn't know that Pat Summerall also used to live in Pleasanton. I'm surprised that Pleasanton didn't publicize that the great team of Madden and Summerall were both from Pleasanton. Both are sorely missed in NFL football coverage.

Summerall lived in P-town? I never knew that.
