This is getting to be an absolutely ridiculous situation. Something has to be very, very wrong for this type of situation to be cropping up YET AGAIN. What the heck is going on in this school district? There must be some truly abnormal behavior somewhere. I find it very hard to believe that this brand new superintendent is just another in a long line of people who supposedly can't behave well enough to keep out of controversy. Is someone gaming the system?

What the heck!? Where are all the good investigative journalists when you need them?

This is bad, but Rick did something stupid I would think. Nothing to do with the magnificent and dedicated staff and teachers we have at PUSD. Any news on what came out of the board meeting?

No need to speculate any more:

"An Important Message From the Pleasanton Unified School District Board of Education

One of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Education is to hire and hold accountable the Superintendent of Schools. We want to assure our school community that the entire Board of Education takes this responsibility very seriously, and our District’s current leadership situation has our full and focused attention. We have some important information to share with members of our school community.

On Friday, January 6, 2017, the Board of Education met in closed session and voted unanimously to remove Mr. Rubino from the position of Superintendent, effective immediately. All terms and conditions outlined in the superintendent’s contract will be honored. Both the Board of Education and Mr. Rubino believe it is in the organization’s best interest to move forward with the process of securing new leadership.

The Board believes it is imperative to take swift and responsible action to secure leadership who will help our school community move forward without distraction. We are grateful to Micaela Ochoa, Deputy Superintendent, for agreeing to continue leading the organization during this transition.

Please accept our commitment to identify and secure leadership who will embrace the many strengths, talents and tremendous support that you – the members of our dedicated school community – offer the children in our District.

Respectfully, and on behalf of the Board of Education,

Joan Laursen
Board President"

I have no confidence in the Pleasanton Board of Education to make rational, short term or long term decisions in the best interest of my two children's education.

I think you are wasting my money, and ruining reputations unnecessarily based on either bad legal advice, or some employees have hijacked the school system.

I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Why does "P. Gannon" need to send a message from Joan Larson?
If I respond, my response does not go to the author of the "important message".

@Wade--Patrick Gannon is the staff person in charge of district communication to the community. If you want to contact board members directly, their email addresses are on the PUSD website here: Web Link
