Kathryn Miller Marshall, PhD, was our guest speaker last night at our monthly Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society. Monthly meetings are held in Pleasanton. Kathryn's topic was "Researching War of 1812 Era Ancestors" which was very professionally presented and delivered with enough humor to be engaging. Everyone I talked with after the meeting was very glad they attended the meeting. Kathryn was very well informed on the history of the War of 1812. We didn't want the evening to end! If you are interested in family history research, please join us for our monthly meetings. We have a different speaker at each monthly meeting. For more information, our website is www.L-AGS.org. Meetings are from 7:30-9:00 PM, the second Monday of each month. Guest are always welcome. I plan to coordinate a genealogy seminar with the focus on military records sometime later this year. Kathryn has agreed to be one of our presenters. If you would like to learn more about researching your family history, we have docents that volunteer to help with your research at the Pleasanton library and at the Livermore Family History Center, 90 Mocho Street, Livermore. Hours: Mon. 9-3 PM, Wed./Thur.6-9 PM, Sat. 1-4 PM, closed federal holidays.
