Loud Boom & Power Outage

Original post made by Maryann, Lydiksen Elementary School, on Aug 10, 2014

Called PG&E for power outage about 15 minutes ago. Sounds like a transformer blew up. It was a loud explosion and then the power was out. Apparently this is affecting 3900 customers in this area. Hope the appliances are not fried and that the power comes back on before the freezer/fridge food goes to waste.

Michael Austin is a registered user.

This is the second power outage in this area in as many weeks.
The previous outage, 08/02/2014 was 4.5 hours. That outage was
an underground vault.

I asked PG&E to email the maintenance records for that vault because
it is fairly new, installed after a prolonged outage a couple of years ago.

PG&E did not have maintenance records for that vault, because they never did any maintenance with it.

1 does wonder how long we could survive w/o power?

No AC, Electric/gas, computer/phones. I think it would be "fairly" difficult, but we could manage.

These are all dress rehersals staged by Our Dear Leader in Washington. They are watching us, and seeing how we respond when they come to strip us, of power.
