Original post made on Jan 6, 2014

Four East Bay men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing mail out of mailboxes from homes in as many as 13 Bay Area cities, and Pleasanton police praised a homeowner for spotting the theft and calling officers.

How come nobody ever comments on the ethnicity of the perpetrators when the perpetrators are white? For the record, let it be noted that the recent Baskin-Robbins robbery suspect is white. Also, the only three murders in Pleasanton that I can recall offhand were all committed by whites (i.e., the Cody Hall case of 2nd degree murder, the gambling son murder of his parents, and the murder of Tina Faeltz (sp?)).

We caught some individuals on surveillance going through our neighborhood about a year ago. They were also driving a late model Nissan Altima. I wonder if they are the same suspects.

Folks that steal come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and they may speak a language other than English. Or, they may only speak English. A thief is a thief is a thief. Just like a rapist.

Hope they ALL get BUSTED and go to prison.

i rest my case...

Since Sam wants to drag race into a crime discussion, it should be noted that black people, according to FBI statistics, are 8 times more likely to commit violent crimes. That is a hugely significant statistic. This may be inconvenient to the PC police crowd, but the facts are that this is a fact.

@Al -- nice idea but defeated by our wonderful mail carriers. My mailbox is very large and it locks. The idiots who deliver the mail simply fold the mail into the never-ending ads that arrive and then the leave the whole bundle sticking up out of the the slot. Brilliant.

Thanks for the link, cholo. What would really be interesting would be to correlate these stats with the demographics of each city. Unless, of course, you assume, like some other posters that criminals don't travel from one location to another......

Wait for the low income housing to be built and you'll find out soon, cholo. Soon, crime in ptown will rival the gangs in Livermore, the norteno wannabes versus the surreno wannabes.

One year ago we had a letter with a small check stolen and was taken for over three grand. These people are quite smart at what they do,right down to duplicating our account. Our police dept. has done nothing, the p.o. Has done nothing, all calls are done by us. Calls are rarely returned, and any info is on our part. If you know of any other avenue we can take we would appreciate your input. Please do not mail your letters, etc from your letter box. My mistake, but never again. Just wondering if the four men in Pleasanton arrests are connected with our crime.

liberalism is a disease is a registered user.

Cholo, most regular posters will recognize your attempt to discredit others who are against crime by gang bangers in the tri valley. Since you choose to defend the Mexican gangs that have infiltrated our area, it must be because you are sympathetic or supportive of their criminal behavior. I hope that is not the case, but if it is, I'm sure the Pleasanton police would be able to track you down, starting with your IP address. You chose your allies very poorly.......
