Commencement exercises are less than two months away but the Class of 2013 at Amador Valley High School couldn’t wait to get on the school’s football field where the ceremonies will be held.

The class assembled earlier this week for this aerial photo taken by Eric Page, one of only a few high school students in Northern California who are also pilots.

The field show, arranged by teacher Amber Azevedo, was a tribute to the graduating class, to Amador High’s 90th anniversary and to Amador prinicipal Jim Hansen who is retiring at the end of the school year.

  1. Perhaps the future of this group of grads may be bright, but it’s unlikely their grandchildren or their grandchildren’s grandchildren will be bright at all. There will be little sunshine after the tsunami of unfunded liabilities washes over the entire state of California. Calpers is way underfunded, and it is getting worse every day; Calstrs is not far behind. One dare not look at what this economy will look like in 50-60 years. But if we don’t do something about unionized public workers, unsustainable salaries and pensions, and the rest of the unfunded liabilities brought to us by Gov Moonbeam, there won’t be bright skies in anyone’s future. It’s near impossible to see bright skies when you’re gurgling under a mountain of water (public debt). All the signs are there.

  2. The saddest part of this all–and I’m sure Arnold will agree–is that these kids will be too young to be able to vote for David Miller in the upcoming election. Especially since the liberal goons who somehow took over this town from the rational, God-fearing patriots are likely to fall in line with the unions when they vote. How tragic to be perhaps months away from being old enough to vote, only to have your only salvation, David Miller, defeated, and having to watch as teachers and other overpaid union thugs destroy your ecomic future with their pensions and tax increases. Make no mistake, if we don’t elect Miller, we’re looking at a Terminator-like future ahead of us, only we’ll be too poor to afford the robots! Vote TEA Party if you want to live!
