Acclaimed jazz vocalist comes to Firehouse

Clairdee to perform in downtown Pleasanton for Valentine's Day

by Jeremy Walsh

The Firehouse Arts Center is recognizing Valentine's Day with a special performance Friday (Feb. 14) by internationally acclaimed vocalist Clairdee, accompanied by a musical trio led by pianist Ken French.

The concert, entitled "A Time for Love," will feature a blend of jazz, pop and R&B, and is a part of the Pleasanton venue's "Cabaret Series at the Firehouse."

Known for her vocal prowess and impassioned live performances, Clairdee has headlined a number of top-tier locations, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York and the Edinburgh Jazz Festival in Scotland. Her most recent album was recorded live in concert at Yoshi's San Francisco.

She is also working to give back to the music community, serving as a teaching artist with SFJAZZ and the San Francisco Symphony education departments, where her master's classes are offered.

The concert Friday begins at 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.firehousearts.org or call 931-4848.
