Dons make a splash

The Amador JV Lady Dons Water Polo Team took first place for the second year at the Liberty High School water polo tournament. They report that they have struggled lately but seemed to have turned it all around after a nail-biting overtime 9-8 win against EBAL rival Livermore at Livermore on Oct. 20. This newfound life carried over into Saturday's three-win, first-place finish in the Liberty High School JV tournament.

The team was scheduled to play crosstown rival Amador Valley at Amador on Oct. 27. After the varsity game, Amador planned to honor its six graduating girls: Madison Mooney, Kayla Miller, Madeleine Hess, Caroline Harpster, Elle Surber and Nicole Guzolek; and its two graduating boys: Michael Lenz and goalie Chris Iniguez. The boy's varsity game was to follow immediately after the brief ceremony.
