Dublin man shot, injured after threatening police officer with knife
Shooting occurs as police respond to father's call for help
|
Police shot and injured a Dublin man Friday morning after he allegedly walked toward officers with a large knife, a spokesman said today.
Blaine Cox contacted police at 9:22 a.m. saying his son, Ryan Cox, 28, was causing a disturbance at their home on Frederiksen Lane, according to Lt. Herb Walters.
Blaine said Ryan was punching holes in his wall, and told police he was afraid of his son.
Officers met with Blaine in front of his house. As they were speaking to him, a suspect, later identified as Ryan, stepped out of the garage carrying a knife, described as being around 10 inches long, Walters said.
Ryan allegedly refused to listen to commands and walked toward an officer, who at that point feared an attack and fired several rounds.
Ryan was struck in the upper torso and arm, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment with injuries that were not considered to be life threatening, Walters said.
Police plan to ask prosecutors to file a charge of assault with a deadly weapon against Ryan, Walters said.

How far away was he?
I can hear the police doing practice shooting in the mornings.
With all that practice, it seems like they would be better shots
than that! At least the father reported him, unlike the mother whos
son shot up the children in SandyHook School. She should have
done that too. She was irresponsible and now we're all paying
for her negligence.

So many in the African American community do this, it's known as the "ghetto lottery." With names like "Blaine" and "Cox" - we can assume that these are Caucasians we're dealing with - so they knew the police wouldn't try to make Ryan good just for brandishing a knife. Now they have a case where police shot a man on private property. Don't be too surprised if John Burris or another scumbag lawyer gets involved suing the police department for "violating his civil rights."
