Man stabbed outside downtown Pleasanton restaurant after fight
Police searching for suspect in Red Coats Pub altercation

A man was stabbed in a fight at a Pleasanton bar early Saturday morning, according to police.
A short time after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the Redcoats British Pub & Restaurant at 336 St. Mary's St., but were unable to locate a victim, police said.
About 8:10 a.m., a man with a stab wound to the back arrived at the emergency room at ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton saying that he had been in a fight the previous night and had been stabbed. The man was treated for a minor stab wound and released.
Police said the victim reported that he went to pick up his girlfriend from the Red Coats Pub after she told him a man at the bar was harassing her.
The victim arrived in the back of the bar and got into an altercation with the suspect, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the back, according to police. The suspect fled the area and has not been located.
Police are investigating the episode, which they believe is an isolated incident. It is sad that this pub has gotten a poor reputation. I was all for it opening and shared several dinners there. But over time, it seems like a 'rougher' crowd started to show. Loud, brash and not able to enjoy an evening without getting a bit out if hand.
Whe they can't determine who walks in the doors, they can limit the beverage consumption for those who abuse. And anyone 'breaking' the peace should be escorted out. They can refuse service
Hope this is a wake up call and the line has finally been drawn "in the sand"

I hate to say it, but bars should learn a few lessons about customer intimidation from the airline industry.

The issue not with the owner, this sounds like a dispute among lovers and jealous rivals. The fact that the owner of " The Crown"
has expanded into Pleasanton is upsetting you smells like you are a competitor. We have no record of a "stabbing" in downtown Danville at the Crown, Meenar's, or Norm's . Danville is safe, Pleasanton has always had a seemy fairgrounds crowd going back 30 years. I don't know the owner of "The Crown" but I will say they have the best fish and chips around here.

Some of the Yelp reviews do say that the bar is not managed by professionals. I see that the Contra Costa Times also has an article about the stabbing at the bar as well.

Lahommed is a member (registered user) of PleasantonWeekly.com Pleasanton is no different than any other city in todays world! rather it be a Bar owner or an owner of a Restaurant or any type of business.....There is a tremendous lack of respect for Human life out there! We all have a stake in this.....If anyone sees something going on that they feel is dangerous or can put people at harm they should Immediately bring it to the attention of the business owner or Manager...and if that does not work the Local Authorities. Simple... but you would be surprised by how many close their eyes or turn their heads....or just don't want to get involved! Old school is that you stand up for what is right...and if someone's feelings get hurt...well too bad....the big picture is most important...and the needs of the many far outweight the needs of the few! Then perhaps alot of this nonsense would curtail!
