 | Santa made a brief and early stop in downtown Pleasanton Saturday to wrap up the city's annual Hometown Holiday Parade.
Riding high in a fire truck provided by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Santa waved to thousands of children and their parents cheering jolly St. Nick from Main Street sidewalks and even along Santa Rita Road just north of downtown.
Before leaving to return to the North Pole to finish his Christmas Eve trip plans, Santa joined Pleasanton Mayor Jennifer Hosterman in lighting the majestic holiday tree in front of the Museum on Main.
The tree will stay lighted through New Year's Day.

Posted by Kris, a resident of the Birdland neighborhood, on Dec 3, 2012 at 8:57 pm I hope people spend a lot of money this year. There's sure a lot of things our family needs, and what's Christmas if you don't have a lot of money to spend? We're getting tv's for both our kids so they can watch something entertaining before they fall asleep at night. And I'm getting my husband a 5th generation ipod because his 4th generation doesn't have some of the fancy gadgets that the 5th has. Warmest Christmas cheer to all shoppeers, and be sure to spend a lot. Our merchants need it, and they are our job-creating heroes.
