10 arrested in gang-related narcotics raid in Livermore
Chestnut Street residence allegedly used for drug sales, gang activity

Bookmark and Share
Ten people were arrested during the execution of a narcotics search warrant at a possibly gang-related residence in Livermore Wednesday afternoon, according to Livermore police.

The Livermore Police Department's Special Operations Unit worked in conjunction with the East County Tactical Team to conduct a narcotics search at a residence in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street at 4:30 p.m.

Officers closed a portion of Chestnut Street during the search of the residence to ensure the safety of Livermore residents, police said.

A police investigation linked the occupants of the residence to possible drug use, drug sales, and Sureno gang activity, police said.

When police and the tactical unit executed the warrant, several people attempted to flee the residence, both on foot and by vehicle, police said.

Suspects inside the residence and those attempting to flee the scene were apprehended, police said.

One suspect attempted to resist officers and was found to be concealing a loaded firearm, according to police.

Of the 11 suspects detained by police, 10 arrests were made. Police recovered two firearms and made arrests for possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, police said.

The ten subjects were booked into Santa Rita jail, police said.

No surprise here. They should hit East Ave next.

Have you taken a look at Livermore lately? (Comment deemed inappropriate by Pleasanton Weekly Online staff)

How many of these parents take their kids out of school for doc appoinments, and vacations? there are many more teachers workdays now then in the past and there is no excuse to make an appointment during school hours. Vacations? that is why we have no school in summer and we have spring and winter breaks.

So what's the difference-charge the parents whose kids didn't come to school that day-don't take it out on everyone else.

hey Ptown native--my mother lives less then 1 block from here- so don't knock Livermore. P-town isn't any different just look at all the druggies downtown. Yes P-town has a problem too. you must live a very sheltered life.

I'm not cutting down Livermore. I drive on East Ave

everyday going to work for many many years. I see

the changes. I am very aware of Ptown's situation as

well. Remember when the police report section was

only as big as a business card...now it's a whole page.

Washington and Colorado solved these problems by legalizing drug use. Really makes you want to do business with folks in those states, doesn't it? I can see it now: 'Dude, I can't complete your order of precision medical instruments, I'm too wasted and have the munchies; I have to go buy some oreos'.

Cholo was NOT involved...I rest my case!
