The Pleasanton school board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. tonight to confer with legal counsel about anticipated litigation.

The meeting will be open to the public when it starts at 6 p.m., but the board will then go into a closed session which the public will not be allowed to attend.

An agenda posted at the district’s entrance states that the meeting will concern personnel actions, the conference with the district’s legal counsel and the board’s evaluation of Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi’s performance.

The meeting will not be recorded or televised, but will be reported by the Pleasanton Weekly once information about the meeting becomes available.

The meeting will be held in the district’s headquarters, 4665 Bernal Ave.

  1. Since this is a SPECIAL meeting, there must be a reason or agenda. If anyone knows (like the Board) please respond.

Could this be about the trial that is starting today?

  2. The date is incorrect. Our Special Board meeting, which is a Closed session, is Wednesday night, April 22nd at 6pm. This meeting is posted on the PUSD website, along with the agenda.

PW – Can you please post the correct date? Thank you!

  3. Here is the agenda for the closed session. April 22 at 6:00pm.

    4. ADJOURNMENT

  4. Superintendent’s Evaluation

It a little late for that now.
    Look at the damage.

Plus you are the people who hired her and should’ve been managing her.

  5. Tell me why this is a closed session? All of these matters concern our schools and our children.
Why are we not allowed to hear what is being discussed??

  6. Why evaluate her now? You’ve allowed this woman to ruin a man’s life and you’re just now going to do something about her actions? I’m thinking the entire board and everyone involved in the ruin of this man’s life be dismissed. Effective immediately!

  7. To the board: First of all thank you for your service. Our supt. is a passionate advocate for education. Lack of proper procedural and institutional communication, however, has left us vulnerable to financial disaster and the inexcusable personal ruin of reputations and careers. Time for change.

  8. Terminate the superintendent (long over due) and fire the board for their mistake in hiring her and letting her do so much damage!

  9. Personally, I thank the trustees for their service. I would not want that target on my back, so thanks to them for their time and energy. I agree with the earlier poster that the superintendent is passionate about education. I watch most of the replays of the school board meetings, and her eyes light up when it comes to children. Unfortunately, she falls woefully short in many areas that a high paid administrator must excel at. Very poor communicator. Very poor listening skills. Seems to dodge every question (like a politician) rather than admit anything. Nearly every major initiative has been bungled. The list of “oops” moments is endless. Her own administrators have no confidence in her, as witnessed by the revolving door of principals. She has built a staff managed by fear and intimidation. If you don’t line up like a sheep, you are sheered of your wool. Still resist? You will be set up and “dealt with”. She has crafted an illusion where she and her Vice-Superintendent dictate the law, and all are expected to smile happily and comply. How many times have we heard Ms. Ahmadi say “Incredible”, “Fantastic”, “Wonderful”, and “Exceptional”? If you listened to her, you would think everything is perfect! Common Core roll out? “Excellent job”. Calendar change? “Fantastic Job by the committee”. “I’d like to commend the IT staff for the new email system after our old one (that wasn’t backed up) blew up. Great Job!” It’s all “spin”, at it’s finest. How can everything be perfect? I watch online most board meetings, and not once have I heard the Superintendent or Vice every say “we could have done this better, and we’re learning from that”. It’s a level of arrogance that cannot be tolerated. The smartest people know that they are dumb sometimes. The idiots think they are always right.

So let’s not attack the trustees. The superintendent has been insubordinate and obstructive with them. The calendar decision meeting was a huge bait-and-switch by Ahmadi (5 options vs 2). Is she arrogant enough to think that the public wouldn’t see that? It’s time for the board to take action. C’mon Trustees, let’s do the right thing!

  10. I agree with the above two posters who praise the passion but criticize the communication. A little talking/apologizing/explaining ect. Would have gone a long way towards saving reputations, careers (including her own) and near certain budget disaster. Some listening would have been nice too especially to Mary and laura. This job requires more discernment than has been displayed. Time for change.
