The city of Pleasanton will host a free Transition Information Night today for families of Tri-Valley young adults with developmental disabilities.
The event is scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Boulevard.
Presentations will "Ready, Set…Transition!" Gina Gourley, who had a 25-year career in special education with the Pleasanton Unified School District; Janice Ochoa, a case manager from Regional Center of the East Bay; Julie Testa from REACH; Brianna Steinhauser from Housing Consortium of the East Bay, and Tony Green from Bethesda Lutheran Communities.
Topics to be covered include independent and supported living, group homes, shared housing, family homes and California Legacy Homes.
All presentations will be held twice during the event, and are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The event is co-sponsored by Tri-Valley REACH, the Alameda County Developmental Disabilities Council and the Pleasanton Unified School District WorkAbility Program.
