A 3.0 earthquake was reported near The Geysers in Sonoma County
Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake, recorded at 3:22 p.m., occurred at a depth of 2.4 miles
in an area 26 miles north of Santa Rosa and 11 miles east of Cloverdale that is known for seismic activity.
The Geysers is the largest single geothermal energy field in the
world, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, and the region experiences constant seismic events between 0.5 and 3.0 on the Richter scale.
