It's Halloween and today PPIE means Pleasanton Pirates in Education.
Jeff and Patty Bowser are hosting a haunted pirate-themed Halloween display at their home, 2426 Tapestry Way, to benefit Pleasanton Partnerships in Education (PPIE).
For the past 11 years Jeff, a Pleasanton school board member, and Patty, a third grade teacher at Hearst, have built the display as a Halloween treat for their neighborhood.
Jeff Bowser is a former stage craft advisor to Dublin High School and Children's Theater Workshop. He uses computer-controlled special effects to haunt trick or treaters, including fog, black lights, and a video display.
This year the Bowsers are hoping to use Halloween raise awareness for PPIE, the local foundation that benefits Pleasanton Schools.
Pleasanton Pirates in Education will be on display today from sunset to 10 p.m. Patty and Jeff Bowser will be collecting donations for PPIE on Halloween but encouraging people to donate online
All proceeds from the Bowser's display will go to benefit PPIE.
