'Les Miserables'

Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre Presents 'Forever Plaid'
When four young singers are killed in a car crash, they posthumously take the stage for one final gig in this goofy 1950's nostalgia trip. Full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and wonderful tunes. Exchange Student Candidates for PTSCA 2015 Delegation
The Pleasanton Tulancingo Sister City Association youth cultural exchange summer program is beginning the candidate process. Students need to be entering sophomore-senior year in high school in the fall and have completed a second year of Spanish by the end of this school year. Students can attend any meeting regardless of their school of attendance to learn about the application and selection process. California Watercolor Associationís 45th Annual National Exhibition
Jan. 14-Feb. 21 in the Harrington Gallery at Firehouse Arts Center. 75 artists from California and beyond have been accepted by this year's judges. A wide variety of styles and types of water media are represented. A reception and awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15. Painting demonstrations will be at 11:30 a.m. most Saturdays during the exhibition. Sleep Trainís Pajama Drive for Foster Kids
Sleep Trainís annual Pajama Drive aims to make nighttime cozier for local foster children ensuring they go to bed wearing their own pair of comfortable pajamas. Three Diamonds Qigong Series
"Three Diamonds Qigong" will focus on exercises that tap into and cultivate the three greatest reservoirs of energy within ourselves to create more stamina, more joy, clearer thinking, and better overall health. Scholarships Available
Foothill, Village and Amador Students can download the guidelines and application for scholarships awarded by Amador Valley Scholarships, Inc. Scholarships awarded to students who plan to attend community colleges, vocational/technical schools or 4 year universities. Deadline to apply is March 20. Donations Needed for American Cancer Society Discovery Shop
American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is requesting donations of necklaces, bracelets rings and watches as well as women's accessories for its event "Glitter and Glamour" April 17-19. Donations are accepted 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays, and noon-5 p.m. Sundays at the shop, 1989-E Santa Rita Road. Pleasanton's 1776-era Colonial Fife & Drum Band is now accepting new members for a limited time. Learn to play drum or fife (flute) for only $10 per 1.5 hour small group lesson, ages 8-17, from 6:30-8:15 p.m. Fridays. Experience helpful but not required. Learn music, history and leadership. Support Groups

Pleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel. Learn more at


Peddler Shoppe at the Senior Center
The Peddler Shoppe in the lobby of the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., offers the handmade wares of talented local senior artisans. It's a great place to buy gifts. Seniors are invited to a Beginning Latin Line Date from 1-2:15 p.m. Tuesdays; cost is $12 for four classes per month or $15 for five classes per month. Dublin Senior Center Programs
Dublin Senior Center offers different programs and activities including "ESL" which helps seniors practice their English conversational skills, a Reading Group that meets monthly to discuss new books and a Needle Arts Group that enjoys quilting, sewing and knitting. Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library
The Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday at the senior center, 7600 Amador Valley Blvd., Dublin. The library gladly accepts donations of like-new used books published in the last five years, puzzles, magazines within three months of distribution, and videotapes. Farmers Market
