Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society Presents Richard Finn
Richard Finn and his cousin have spent several years researching hundreds of people buried at the first formal cemetary in the Livermore-Amador Valley, Oak Knoll Cemetery. He will discuss methods used to determine who was buried in the cemetery and how knowledge was gained about these people on Monday, Feb. 8 at Congregation Beth Emek, 3400 Nevada Court. PCRT Presents Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'

Simon Youth Foundation Scholarship Opportunity

Grief Workshop
The death of a loved one is unlike any other loss. Join these bi-monthly meetings and let us accompany you on your healing journey, at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 12 and 26; Thursdays, Feb. 11 and 25; and on Thursday, March 10 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 4001 Stoneridge Drive. Tri-Valley Retired Educators Scholarship 2016
Up to five scholarships, each worth $2,500.00, are offered by the Tri-Valley Retired Educators Scholarship Foundation offered to high-school graduating seniors and college/university students. Applicants must: be planning a career in education, be residents of the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin or Sunol area, high school applicants must be seniors planning to attend a four-year college in fall, 2016, community college applicants must be qualified to transfer as juniors to a four-year institution in fall, 2016, 4-year college applicants must be sophomores who will continue as juniors in fall, 2016. Pleasanton Senior Center Daily PC Tutoring
Get one-on-one PC tutoring between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Pleasanton Senior Center. If you have your own laptop, you can bring it. PCs are available in Windows 7/8/10. Join Youth Track and Field Club
FTC track club is taking registrations for the fall season (Sept.-Dec.) and will begin practices on Sept. 8. FTC is a U.S. Track and Field (USATF) member club for kids 7-18 from any school. Support Groups

Pleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel. Learn more at

Caregiver Support Group
Caring for a loved one is challenging physically and emotionally. Peddler Shoppe at the Senior Center
The Peddler Shoppe in the lobby of the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., offers the handmade wares of talented local senior artisans. It's a great place to buy gifts. Transcribing for You
Transcribing for You has volunteers that will transcribe and print your letters to be sent. The service is located at the Dublin Senior Center, 7600 Amador Valley Blvd, Dublin, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $1.50. Dublin Senior Center Dance Classes
Seniors are invited to a Beginning Latin Line Date from 1-2:15 p.m. Tuesdays; cost is $12 for four classes per month or $15 for five classes per month. Dublin Senior Center Programs
Dublin Senior Center offers different programs and activities including "ESL" which helps seniors practice their English conversational skills, a Reading Group that meets monthly to discuss new books and a Needle Arts Group that enjoys quilting, sewing and knitting. Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library
The Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday at the senior center, 7600 Amador Valley Blvd., Dublin. The library gladly accepts donations of like-new used books published in the last five years, puzzles, magazines within three months of distribution, and videotapes. Farmers Market
Visit the Pleasanton Farmers Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday, on East Angela Street between Main and First streets.
