REACH Golf Tournament
REACH will hold its 9th Annual Fundraising Golf tournament and dinner banquet from noon-7 p.m. on Monday, July 27 at Castlewood Country Club. REACH is a non-profit organization that provides housing for adults with disabilities enabling then to live independently. Cost is $150. Go to www.trivalleyreach.org. The 50 Years of Rotary is a joint celebration of the Rotary clubs in Pleasanton, including The Rotary Club of Pleasanton, The Rotary Club of Pleasanton North, Tri-Valley Evening Rotary Club, and Tri-Valley Rotary Clubs. 'Fun With Science' Summer Series
Come explore the Discovery Center and take part in the "Fun With Science" program designed for 5th graders, a fun way to see and participate in science experiments that explain states of matter, air pressure, density, electricity, light and chemistry. Held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 10, 17; July 1, 15; Aug. 6, 12 at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Discovery Center. Registration required. Special Art Exhibits: William Rushton and Victoria Veedell
Enjoy two unique exhibits, the dense oils of William Rushton and the atmospheric landscapes of Victoria Veedell. Support Groups

Pleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel. The library gladly accepts donations of like-new used books published in the last five years, puzzles, magazines within three months of distribution, and videotapes.
