'We Can' Art Exhibit at Las Positas College
The "We Can" art exhibit will benefit the Alameda County Community Food Bank by sale of the paintings and the donation of canned foods. The exhibit will run from Oct. 1-30 at the Barbara Fracisco Mertes Center for the Arts at Las Positas College in Livermore. Pleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel.
