Fundraisers'We Can' Art Exhibit at Las Positas College
The "We Can" art exhibit will benefit the Alameda County Community Food Bank by sale of the paintings and the donation of canned foods. The exhibit will run from Oct. 1-30 at the Barbara Fracisco Mertes Center for the Arts at Las Positas College in Livermore. Paintings can be viewed and bid on in $60 increments at www.biddingforgood.com/lpcfoundation; cash donations can also be made at this website. Food donations can be made at the college. An opening reception will be held 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1; a closing reception will be held 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30. For more information contact Bill Paskewitz at 424-1265. The Basket Brigade is a special kind of Thanksgiving food drive and community effort that offers participants the opportunity to donate food and much needed items to families in need.
